..after what was a fantastic event, we are picking ourselves up and taking a good look at what happened last week.
First of all, thanks to the 280 or so companies who exhibited this year. Since the show we have been inundated with compliments on the wide range of exhibitors and solutions available. Alicen Stenner, Brand Director at Hearst Digital (the digital arm of the company behind iVillage, Cosmopolitan, Esquire and Marie Claire) sums it up:
“Internet World is a massive event. In a fast paced industry and when you have a busy job it’s tough keeping up to date with the latest developments and the best suppliers. This show let’s you do just that in one easy hit”
A really nice quote from someone who certainly knows what they are talking about.
The VP of Maketing for Bebo, Ziv Navoth, also said these kind words:
“There are many conferences you can go to, to find what’s going on with the Internet today. But if you want to find out what’s going to happen tomorrow, you need to be at Internet World”
These two quotes really sum up what we are trying to achieve with Internet World and it looks like we are making some great progress. When we set out our plan for the show a couple of years ago we wanted to get all the key products and solutions in one place, whilst also giving people a glimpse of the future.
I’d also like to thank the attendees we had over the 3 days, almost 13,000 in total (this is based on our own registration data and is not an independently audited number – that will come soon). An amazing turnout of people hungry to learn and meet suppliers.
We are now sitting down and discussing how we can improve the show for next year so if you have any comments on what would make it better for you, as an exhibitor or visitor, please drop me an email or leave a comment here.

We used to be regular visitors but the lack of big names means that its massively devalued for me. We used to love the adobe and macromedia stands where they showcased the latest technologies and walked you through the features of new software… even the manchester internet world was stopped meaning people from further afield have to trapse all the way to london for it

Hi Mark. Thanks for your comment. Believe me it’s not through lack of trying that Adobe and Macromedia are not there. Unfortunately for this year they decided that the show was not worth investing their marketing budgets in. I’ll do my best to persuade them otherwise for 2008!

I would like to see Microsoft and their Expression suite, Adobe, and some big presences from contextual advertising, like Vibrant Media (IntelliTXT) and more for Web Designers and the Creative Industry.

At the show, the staff promised that the slides from presentations would be uploaded to the website. Is this already there? if so what is the url (as I can’t find it). If not, when will they be uploaded. Thanks very much.

Sam England - thanks for your comments. I will get on the case and see what we can sort out for next year. Inca Jones - you can find the ones that we have here http://www.internetworld.co.uk/presentations.html some presenters did not want their sessions to be made available afterwards so we don’t have those. We are still in the process of putting them up so please check back this week if some have yet to be put up

A fantastic show with so many interesting seminars on I wished I could be in two places at once!
It was mentioned that presentations for all seminars would be available on the site to allow viewing of missed, refreshers for attended etc but I cannot locate - could you advise?

Hi Layla. I glad you enjoyed the show. we are in the process of putting up all the seminars we have. We do not have all of them as some where not given to us and some speakers asked for them not to be posted. All the we do have are being uploaded as we speak and can be found here: http://www.internetworld.co.uk/presentations.html
